Sequoia Maroon Base/Decor

Solid timber in a dining hall cups and gaps through a Malaysian year, and termites find it eventually. Sequoia Maroon Base/Decor gives the same tuscan coffee dark brown without either problem. The satin texture surface is lightly textured, so it holds grip near the wet kitchen doorway where a mopped floor stays damp. Five random faces will carry a hall and dining area if you mix boxes as you lay. The decor pieces suit a low feature wall or a step riser. Each box contains 8 planks of 150 x 900 mm, covering 1.08 m2 and weighing 22 kg, worth knowing before ordering for an upstairs job.

• Will Sequoia Maroon Base/Decor swell in a humid climate?

No. Sequoia Maroon Base/Decor is glazed ceramic with 6 to 8 percent water absorption, so humid months do not make it swell, cup or warp the way timber and laminate can.

• How many boxes of Sequoia Maroon Base/Decor for a 5 x 6 m living and dining area?

A 5 x 6 m room is 30 m². With 10 percent extra for cutting, that is 31 boxes, since each box of 8 planks (15 x 90 cm) covers 1.08 m² and weighs about 22 kg.
