Merrick Moka

Water on the floor is what separates this tile from the smooth ones in the range. The deep rustic texture gives more grip underfoot, which is why it goes into laundries, ensuites and the strip of floor by the back door. Golden honey keeps those rooms warm rather than clinical, close to a spotted gum tone without the gold turning brassy. Five random faces is fine at that scale, though a large living area would want cartons mixed first. Planks are 150 x 900 mm, 8 to a box, 1.08 m2 per box at 22 kg. Indoor rated only, so keep it inside the walls.

• Can Merrick Moka go in an alfresco area?

No, Merrick Moka is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should Merrick Moka be laid with?

Merrick Moka is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
