NRC-502

Merbau decking fades to grey and wants oiling every year. NRC-502 holds its merlot red brown without that work, and it is rated for outdoor use, so it suits a covered patio, a verandah, an alfresco area or a pool surround. The satin texture is lightly textured underfoot, close to sanded board, and still wipes clean. Be aware the design has a single random face, so every plank carries the same grain. Open several boxes and stagger the joints hard, or the repeat will read across the floor. Planks are 150 x 900 mm, eight to a box, giving 1.08 m2 at 22 kg. Glazed ceramic, 9 to 9.5 mm thick.

• How many square metres are in a carton of NRC-502?

Each carton holds 8 planks of 15 x 90 cm and covers 1.08 m², at about 22 kg. NRC-502 is a timber look tile with a satin textured face.

• How many cartons of NRC-502 for a 16 m² rumpus room?

Add 10 percent to 16 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 17.6 m². At 1.08 m² a carton that is 17 cartons.

• Can NRC-502 go in an alfresco area?

Yes. NRC-502 is rated for outdoor use, so a covered alfresco, verandah or balcony can have a timber deck look that never needs oiling or re-staining.

• What grout joint should NRC-502 be laid with?

NRC-502 is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
