NRC-712

Open plan living rooms are where NRC-712 earns its keep. Seven random faces spread across a wide floor, so the eye does not catch a repeating plank between the kitchen bench and the far wall. The warm chestnut colour sits close to brushbox, warmer than a grey floor and easier to furnish around. The surface is satin plain, smooth to the hand and mopped in one pass, though it does show dust and footprints sooner than a textured face would. Each box holds eight 150 x 900 mm planks, covers 1.08 m2 and weighs 22 kg. Glazed ceramic, rated for indoor use.

• How many square metres are in a carton of NRC-712?

Each carton holds 8 planks of 15 x 90 cm and covers 1.08 m², at about 22 kg. NRC-712 is a timber look tile with a smooth satin face.

• How many cartons of NRC-712 for a 16 m² rumpus room?

Add 10 percent to 16 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 17.6 m². At 1.08 m² a carton that is 17 cartons.

• Can NRC-712 go in an alfresco area?

No, NRC-712 is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should NRC-712 be laid with?

NRC-712 is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
