Flagstaff 4

A dark floor in a large room needs face variation or the eye picks up the pattern immediately. Flagstaff 4 has eighteen random faces, the widest set in this size, so tuscan coffee reads as a genuine dark brown timber close to ironbark rather than a printed tile. The satin texture is lightly grained and easy to sweep. Be honest about dark floors in a bright Australian room though, because every crumb and every bit of pet hair shows up, so plan on sweeping more often. Planks are 200 x 1000 mm, five in a box covering 1.00 m2 at 20 kg.

• What does a carton of Flagstaff 4 cover?

Each carton holds 5 planks of 20 x 100 cm and covers 1.00 m², at about 20 kg. Flagstaff 4 is a timber look tile with a satin textured face.

• How many cartons of Flagstaff 4 for a 28 m² open plan kitchen and dining area?

Add 10 percent to 28 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 30.8 m². At 1.00 m² a carton that is 31 cartons.

• Can Flagstaff 4 go in an alfresco area?

No, Flagstaff 4 is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should Flagstaff 4 be laid with?

Flagstaff 4 is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
