Frassino

Frassino is Italian for ash, and the tile carries that timber's long, regular grain in a warm chestnut. Ash is a classic parquet species, and the 1200 mm plank suits it because the figure runs the length of the board rather than breaking up. The satin plain face is smooth, mops in one pass and takes no marks from chair legs, which is why it works under a dining table. It gives no grip advantage, so keep it out of wet areas. Six random faces carries a large floor. Planks are 200 x 1200 mm in glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, 5 to a box, 1.20 m2 and 25 kg.

• How is Frassino packed?

Each carton holds 5 planks of 20 x 120 cm and covers 1.20 m², at about 25 kg. Frassino is a timber look tile with a smooth satin face.

• How many cartons of Frassino for a 20 m² living area?

Add 10 percent to 20 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 22.0 m². At 1.20 m² a carton that is 19 cartons.

• Can Frassino go in an alfresco area?

No, Frassino is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• Does Frassino suit hydronic underfloor heating?

Yes. As a glazed ceramic plank it will not gap or cup as the slab warms, and unlike engineered timber it has no 27°C surface limit.
