5017

Golden honey is a warm gold brown, lighter than most wood look tiles and closer to a freshly varnished board than a stained one. The surface is satin plain, fully smooth underfoot, so a damp mop clears it in one pass with nothing catching in the grain. That smoothness does show dust sooner than a textured face, which makes a dry kitchen or an upstairs hall a better fit than a ground floor entrance. Five random faces is a moderate count, so open several boxes and mix the planks before laying. Each plank measures 150 x 900 mm, a box holds 8 pieces covering 1.08 m2, and it weighs 22 kg.

• Will 5017 swell in a humid climate?

No. 5017 is glazed ceramic with 6 to 8 percent water absorption, so humid months do not make it swell, cup or warp the way timber and laminate can.

• How many boxes of 5017 for a 3 x 4 m bedroom?

A 3 x 4 m room is 12 m². With 10 percent extra for cutting, that is 13 boxes, since each box of 8 planks (15 x 90 cm) covers 1.08 m² and weighs about 22 kg.

• Which rooms in a condo or landed house suit 5017?

5017 works on floors and walls in living and dining areas, study rooms and corridors. It is rated for interior use.

• What upkeep does 5017 need?

Sweep, then mop with a mild floor cleaner. The glazed satin textured face needs no oiling, sanding or polish.
