D9-1507

Nine random faces is the number to note here. Across an open hall and up to a staircase landing, a large floor can be laid without the same plank appearing twice in view, which is where cheaper wood look tiles give themselves away. Golden honey is the warm golden brown of chengal before it silvers. The satin texture surface carries a light grain, close to sanded board, so it takes daily traffic in a double storey terrace house without showing every mark. Planks measure 150 x 900 mm and a box carries 8 of them, 1.08 m2 in total, at 22 kg. No sorting games needed on site.

No. D9-1507 is glazed ceramic with 6 to 8 percent water absorption, so humid months do not make it swell, cup or warp the way timber and laminate can.

• How many boxes of D9-1507 for a 3 x 3 m bedroom?

A 3 x 3 m room is 9 m². With 10 percent extra for cutting, that is 10 boxes, since each box of 8 planks (15 x 90 cm) covers 1.08 m² and weighs about 22 kg.
