Merrick Pine

Landlords and granny flat builders keep coming back to this one, and the reason is wear rather than looks. The deep rustic texture takes scuffing from furniture and shoes without showing it, and dust settles into the texture instead of sitting on top where every angle of light catches it. Golden honey is a light, even yellow brown that suits a small floor plan. Five random faces means opening several cartons and shuffling planks before the first row goes down. Coverage runs 1.08 m2 per box, 8 planks of 150 x 900 mm, 22 kg to lift. Indoor rated.

• What does a carton of Merrick Pine cover?

• Can Merrick Pine go in an alfresco area?

No, Merrick Pine is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should Merrick Pine be laid with?

Merrick Pine is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
