Oaklore Taupe

Hard afternoon sun through a north facing window heats any dark floor, and a tile still runs cooler underfoot than a timber board does. Oaklore Taupe is a tuscan coffee dark brown, near ironbark, and it holds that colour without the fading a stained board goes through. The rustic texture surface still takes a mop, and its deep relief keeps dust from reading across the floor between cleans. Six random faces spread the grain across a dining room or a main bedroom. Boxes contain eight 150 x 900 mm planks, 1.08 m2 of coverage, 22 kg each. Glazed ceramic, indoor rated.

• What grout joint should Oaklore Taupe be laid with?

Oaklore Taupe is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
