Oaklore Wallnut

Twelve random faces is the highest count in this size, and on a floor over thirty square metres that is something you feel rather than see. Nothing repeats within your line of sight, so a long open plan slab reads like laid boards instead of a printed pattern. The colour is merlot, a red brown close to jarrah, and the deep rustic texture keeps that red from going shiny under downlights. Grip is good and dust does not sit visible on it. Five planks per box, 200 x 1000 mm each, 1.00 m2 and 20 kg. Glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, rated indoor.

• What does a carton of Oaklore Wallnut cover?

Each carton holds 5 planks of 20 x 100 cm and covers 1.00 m², at about 20 kg. Oaklore Wallnut is a timber look tile with a matte textured face.

• How many cartons of Oaklore Wallnut for a 28 m² open plan kitchen and dining area?

Add 10 percent to 28 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 30.8 m². At 1.00 m² a carton that is 31 cartons.

• Can Oaklore Wallnut go in an alfresco area?

No, Oaklore Wallnut is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should Oaklore Wallnut be laid with?

Oaklore Wallnut is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
