Provincial

Bedrooms and a hallway do not need the face count a great room does, and that is where Provincial makes sense at five random faces. The nutmeg brown sits near spotted gum, mid golden brown, warm without going red. Satin texture is the middle surface, lightly textured like a sanded board, quiet underfoot in socks and simple to mop. Lay it through a bedroom wing in a new build and the pattern will not read as printed. On a very large floor, order spare cartons and mix them. Planks are 200 x 1200 mm glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, with 5 in each box for 1.20 m2 at 25 kg.

• How many square metres are in a carton of Provincial?

Each carton holds 5 planks of 20 x 120 cm and covers 1.20 m², at about 25 kg. Provincial is a timber look tile with a satin textured face.

• How many cartons of Provincial for a 16 m² rumpus room?

Add 10 percent to 16 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 17.6 m². At 1.20 m² a carton that is 15 cartons.

• Can Provincial go in an alfresco area?

No, Provincial is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• What grout joint should Provincial be laid with?

Provincial is a curve-edge plank rather than a rectified one, so lay it with a 3 to 5 mm joint. That spacing takes up the small natural variation along the plank and reads like the gap between real boards.
