Provincial

Provincial is the name of a mid brown stain long used on oak floors, and the tile carries that nutmeg tone with grain in relief on a satin textured face, five random faces per design. Planks are 8 x 48 inches in glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, 5 per carton for 12.91 sq ft and 25 kg. This is the tone to match when new tile has to sit alongside an existing stained oak floor in another room, since Provincial is one of the most common stains on American floors. Satin texture reads closer to sanded board than a smooth glaze does.

• What comes in a box of Provincial?

Provincial comes in 8 x 48 inch planks, 5 to a box. One box covers 12.91 sq ft and weighs about 55 lb.

• How many boxes of Provincial do I need for a 12 x 14 ft living room?

A 12 x 14 ft room is 168 sq ft. With 10 percent added for cuts and breakage that is 185 sq ft, or 15 boxes at 12.91 sq ft each.

• Can Provincial go over radiant floor heating?

Yes. It is a glazed ceramic plank 9 to 9.5 mm thick, so it does not gap, cup or split as the floor warms, and it has no 80°F (27°C) surface limit the way engineered wood does.

• Is Provincial a good choice for a bathroom floor?

Provincial has a satin textured face, which suits dry rooms best. For a bathroom floor, pick a design with the Matt Texture finish, which gives more grip underfoot.
