Oaklore Bianco

Black window frames and dark joinery are close to standard in new Australian builds, and they want something under them that does not compete. Oaklore Bianco is the white in the range, and the deep rustic texture keeps it from throwing downlight back up the way a smooth white floor does. Six random faces is modest, but a longer board puts fewer planks in view at once, so a repeat is harder to pick here than in the 200 x 1200 mm version. That is the reason to pay for the length. Planks are 200 x 1400 mm in glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, 4 per box, 1.12 m2 and 24 kg.

  Each carton holds 4 planks of 20 x 140 cm and covers 1.12 m², at about 24 kg. Oaklore Bianco is a timber look tile with a matte textured face.

• How many cartons of Oaklore Bianco for a 12 m² bedroom?

  Add 10 percent to 12 m² for cuts and breakage, which gives 13.2 m². At 1.12 m² a carton that is 12 cartons.

• Can Oaklore Bianco go in an alfresco area?

  No, Oaklore Bianco is rated for interior use. For a covered alfresco or verandah, choose one of Metro's designs rated for outdoor use.

• Does Oaklore Bianco suit hydronic underfloor heating?

  Yes. As a glazed ceramic plank it will not gap or cup as the slab warms, and unlike engineered timber it has no 27°C surface limit.
