Merrick Alumina

Merrick Alumina puts a warm chestnut on a matte face with grain you can clearly feel. That texture is the argument for using it on a bathroom floor, in a kitchen or at an entry where water gets tracked in. Five random faces per design, 6 x 36 inch planks in glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, 8 to a carton for 11.62 sq ft and 22 kg. A matte wood look tile returns no glare, which makes a room read quieter than a polished floor does. Merrick Alumina works with white fixtures, concrete and furniture in oak or black, and it can run from the bath into the hall.

• How many square feet does a box of Merrick Alumina cover?

Merrick Alumina comes in 6 x 36 inch planks, 8 to a box. One box covers 11.62 sq ft and weighs about 49 lb.

• How many boxes of Merrick Alumina do I need for a 10 x 12 ft bedroom?

A 10 x 12 ft room is 120 sq ft. With 10 percent added for cuts and breakage that is 132 sq ft, or 12 boxes at 11.62 sq ft each.

• Can Merrick Alumina go over radiant floor heating?

Yes. It is a glazed ceramic plank 9 to 9.5 mm thick, so it does not gap, cup or split as the floor warms, and it has no 80°F (27°C) surface limit the way engineered wood does.

• What grout joint does Merrick Alumina need?

Merrick Alumina is a curve-edge plank, not rectified, so plan on a joint of 3 to 5 mm, about 1/8 to 3/16 inch. The wider joint gives each board its own line, the way real planks sit.
