Hardwood Dekina

Hardwood Dekina is a reddish merlot on a matte face textured deeply enough to read as brushed hardwood rather than a printed grain, six random faces per design. Planks are 8 x 48 inches in glazed ceramic at 9 to 9.5 mm, a carton of 5 covering 12.91 sq ft at 25 kg. Rated for outdoor use, that depth of texture is the reason to put it on a patio, a poolside or an entry that catches rain: it grips where a smooth glaze would not. Red brown reads like stained decking against brick and planting, and six faces covers a wide terrace.

• What grout joint does Hardwood Dekina need?
